Physical health:
Poor hygiene can increase risk for diseases and illnesses commonly spread through viruses and bacteria.*
Women's health:
In the United States, more than four in five teens have missed class time or know someone who has missed class time because they did not have access to period products.* Additionally, one in five teens have struggled to afford period products or were not able to purchase them at all.*
Mental health:
Kids with poor hygiene can often be bullied.* Bullied students are more likely to eventually drop out of school.*
CVS® wants to help ensure more kids have access to the hygiene products they need for school. In addition to donating $500,000 in value — including personal care products from brands like Crest, Secret and Old Spice — to local Boys & Girls Clubs, CVS is supporting youth-led social change not-for-profit DoSomething's initiative to create Confidence Kits for students in need of hygiene products. The kits will contain personal care items and uplifting handmade messages, and be distributed to the students that need them through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Together we can help make sure more kids move forward this year with confidence.
