How Can MinuteClinic Support Students?
For students of all ages, school is a place for learning, social interaction and the first step in achieving our dreams. But school can also influence our health in many ways, and it’s important to prepare and support students so they can lead healthy lives while in school.
At MinuteClinic®, we help support student health by offering services such as vaccinations, physicals and treatment for common illnesses. In addition, our health care professionals can provide students with information on how to stay healthy and prevent illness.
Our providers are also trained to recognize signs of mental health issues and can make referrals to mental health specialists, if necessary.
What services does MinuteClinic offer to support the health of students?
MinuteClinic offers a variety of health services to support students, including:
- Vaccinations: Students may need vaccinations for school, travel or just to stay up to date on their immunizations. MinuteClinic can provide the required vaccines as well as any recommended vaccines.
- Physicals: Physical exams are important for students who are participating in sports or other activities. MinuteClinic also provides other types of physical exams such as college physicals.
- Travel health exams for study abroad: Students who are planning to study abroad may need travel vaccinations and other medications to stay healthy while they are away. MinuteClinic can help students plan for a healthy trip by providing the necessary vaccines and medications, as well as giving advice on how to avoid getting sick while traveling.
- Treatment for common illnesses: MinuteClinic can treat common illnesses such as cold, flu and sinus infections. We can also provide parents with peace of mind by checking for more serious conditions.
- Mental health counseling: We offer mental health services for individuals 18 years of age and older. These services can address common mental health concerns for students, such as anxiety and stress. We can also refer students to mental health specialists who can provide more comprehensive care for students struggling with mental health issues.
