Are you at risk for sleep apnea?
80% of people with moderate and severe obstructive sleep apnea are undiagnosed.
What is obstructive sleep apnea?
Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the airway at the back of the throat becomes blocked during sleep. It causes temporary lapses in breathing, resulting in lower quality sleep and reduced blood oxygen supply.
Symptoms:
- Excessive daytime sleepiness
- Loud or frequent snoring
- Choking or gasping for breath while sleeping
- Morning headaches
- Morning dry mouth or sore throat
You may be at higher risk for obstructive sleep apnea if you have:*
- Obesity
- Upper airway and craniofacial abnormalities
- Type 2 diabetes
- Family history
- Nasal congestion
- Cardiovascular disease
- Gastroesophageal reflux
Could you have obstructive sleep apnea? Find out if you may be at risk by simply answering a few questions in our sleep screener before scheduling your assessment.

Schedule a sleep assessment Schedule a telehealth visitSchedule a home sleep test
If needed, a home sleep test may be ordered by a MinuteClinic provider. Take the test from the comfort of your own bed, with instructions on how the test is performed. You'll save time not having to spend the night in a sleep facility and no overnight is required. Here's how the home sleep test works:
- A MinuteClinic provider orders the test if clinically necessary
- The test is delivered to your doorstep
- You'll sleep with a few small sensors to monitor your breathing over one to two nights
- You'll receive your results in a couple of days
Review your sleep test results
After you complete your home sleep test, an independent, third-party sleep physician reviews and interprets your results. The physician then sends the interpretation and treatment recommendations to your MinuteClinic provider to review the results with you. If you test positive for obstructive sleep apnea, your MinuteClinic provider can help start your treatment by writing a prescription for for continuous positive airway treatment (CPAP) therapy and supplies as clinically appropriate.* Follow-up visits and ongoing treatment plan options are available at MinuteClinic.
