When might I need a one-time medication renewal?
Taking the correct doses of your medication, at the times your health care provider prescribed, is important for your overall health. Life can get complicated when you move, travel, or relocate or if your provider retires. For everyday ongoing prescriptions, MinuteClinic® offers one-time medication renewals.
Getting help
Your MinuteClinic provider will review your medical history, ask you questions about your health and stability on the medication and perform a clinically appropriate physical evaluation. Depending on the medication, in some instances, testing may be ordered. If it’s determined clinically appropriate to refill your medication, your provider may ask you to provide one of the following:
- The pharmacy where your prescription was last filled
- Contact information for your specialist or primary care provider
- A prescription bottle for the medication you need to refill
Your provider will check your requested prescription against our list of pre-approved medications. If your request meets the necessary requirements, your provider will renew your medication.
1. Prior to scheduling your appointment, you may have to answer a few questions to help us prepare for your visit.

5. At the end of your visit, you are provided with a visit summary, a receipt and educational material about your diagnosis. At your request, we can send your primary care provider information about your visit.
