Your health is your most important asset, as without good health, you may have a hard time fulfilling your responsibilities, caring for your loved ones or simply enjoying life. Unfortunately, today’s healthcare system makes it more difficult than ever for individuals to receive the care they need to not merely maintain their health, but to obtain optimal health.
Our MinuteClinic®, located within our CVS Pharmacy® on the corner of Limit Street and South 4th street, believes that healthcare should be as easy as it is important. Our trained technicians, physicians’ assistants and nurse practitioners provide standard preventative, palliative and diagnostic services to the Leavenworth community to make it so.
Services designed to keep the whole community in good health
The professionals at our MinuteClinic don’t care if you have health insurance, an appointment or even a family care doctor – what we care about is that you have access to the basic medical services you need when you need them. Whether you’re feeling under the weather and need an accurate diagnosis so you can take appropriate measures to alleviate your symptoms or you merely want to prevent illness entirely, turn to our team for the immediate and qualified care you need and deserve. Our MinuteClinic® team is qualified to diagnose and treat the following minor conditions:
- Strep
- Conjunctivitis
- Ear and sinus infections
- Heartburn and indigestion
- Flu, cold and upper respiratory infections
- Mononucleosis
- Allergies
- Diarrhea and vomiting
- UTIs and other bladder infections
If a member of our clinic does diagnose you with an illness, and if said illness is best treated via the use of antibiotics or other prescription medications, we can prescribe and fill your prescription right then and there. This can save you even more time and headache as it means one less stop on your way home.
Prevent serious disease with the appropriate vaccines
We are fortunate enough to live in a day and age when serious illness such as measles, typhoid, rubella and other life-threatening disease is a rare occurrence. This is entirely thanks to vaccinations. Your choice to get yourself and your loved ones vaccinated can help prevent the spread of almost obsolete diseases and, in the process, protect those who cannot be immunized. Our MinuteClinic® makes it easy for you to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community from the threat of exposure by offering vaccinations for some of the more dangerous and common ailments. Some vaccines we are proud to offer include the following:
- MMR
- Tdap
- Meningitis
- IPV
- HPV
- Hepatitis A and B
In addition to the above vaccinations, we also offer the annual flu shot, which we encourage everyone who is able to get at the end of October or early November. A flu shot can help you avoid the uncomfortable symptoms of the flu, which often include fever, chills, muscle aches, nausea and vomiting. However, though it is not 100 percent effective in preventing the flu, it can protect you from developing severe and life-threatening complications, such as pneumonia. If you have yet to get your flu vaccination, remember that it is never too late to do so, and that some immunities are better than no immunities.
